Kolariks Luftburg

Whether hearty or vegetarian, soup or salad, from goulash to crispy knuckles – the Luftburg is the place for culinary treats and to reminisce about the good old times.

In 1895, the brothers Ferdinand and Wilhelm Leicht designed the restaurant called "Zum schwarzen Tor", which was situated here and converted it into a summer music hall. The stage under the chestnut trees witnessed great performers such as Raoul Aslan, Hans Moser, Girardi or Paula Wessely.

The beautiful building with its yellow deals and green framed planks was destroyed during the war and later acquired by the Kolarik family, who opened a petting zoo. Among the attractions were the smallest cow in Austria, an unusual red sow, a tamed brown bear, a tigress and a lion.

In 1992, the restaurant "Luftburg" opened for the first time as a new venue for a cozy get-together. The new winter garden opened in 2008, offering more comfort and coziness to its guests.
